What is recycle4rwanda ? recycle4rwanda is one of my blogs, which I have set up in connection with fund-raising efforts for projects in Shyira, Rwanda. This blog is specifically designed to help people to recycle their old mobile phones and inkjets, and at the same time help Rwanda.

Is recycle4rwanda a charity ? No, it is my own personal project, although it does have close links with a small charity, Shyira Trust.

What is Shyira Trust ? Shyira Trust is a small charity based in Formby, North-West England, which supports projects in Rwanda. Its aims are three-fold: the relief of poverty, the protection of good health, and the advancement of education in Rwanda. These aims are delivered through the support of projects in Shyira, in North-West Rwanda. It does not give handouts to individuals, but supports projects to promote sustainable development.

Who is recycle4rwanda ? At the moment, recycle4rwanda is me, Pete Morgan, but I want recycle4rwanda to be open to anyone who is willing to recycle to raise funds for Shyira.

What can be recycled ? Put simply, any mobile phone can be recycled, and most inkjet cartridges. A detailed list is available below.

How do I collect money ? You don't have to. By using the recycling envelopes or boxes provided, your items will be recycled, and the proceeds sent directly to Shyira Trust.

Can any inkjet be recycled ? There is a list of 'wanted' inkjet cartridges. If you recycle a 'virgin' inkjet from this list, then Shyira Trust will receive £1 for each one. So long as it not on the 'Do not send' list, it can still be recycled - Shyira Trust will not benefit, but you will still be helping the environment. Click here to see the wanted list.

Can any phone be recycled ? Any phone can be recycled, but some are worth more than others. The more modern the phone, the more it is worth, and the more Shyira Trust will receive. As above, even if your phone is worthless, it can still be dismantled and disposed of responsibly, so you will still be helping the environment

Can anyone join in ? Yes ! And it doesn’t cost a penny ! Just use one of the envelopes provided, or sign up to get more envelopes and/or boxes sent to your home or workplace. Envelopes can be used to send more than 1 inkjet. Boxes can hold about 50 items
